I find metal and enamel an extraordinary vehicle in which to work to develop concepts and create. I utilize enamel because its visual qualities — color, texture, luster and depth — mirror the stories’ components and symbolism. Its painterly quality allows me to build rich surfaces on metal as I describe ideas and delineate concept or emotion. Inherent in jewelry is intimacy between space and wearer.
I find this convergence satisfying and compelling.
